Just a little birthday testimony

As you know, yesterday was my birthday. For a while now I have been really craving a good steak (one of my favorite food). And I don't even know how many times I said that "I am feeling like eating a good steak".
So a couple of days before my birthday I was praying and I asked the Lord for a nice steak dinner at a restaurant. I even had a picture in my head of how it should look like.

And.......
On my birthday that is exactly what I got. A nice steak dinner. But the most wonderful part about it was that it was exactly how I imagined it would be. What a great God we serve!

Matt 7:7 - Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you

*Also tomorrow I will be going to the US embassy for my student visa. Please keep me in your prayers.

A little update

Realizing that I haven't wrote on this blog yet what I do exactly, lead me to writing this post. At the moment I have 3 occupations here at YWAM Montego Bay.

The main one is working in the arts ministry. Where we basically have the vision to use the arts to share the love of Christ. One of the ways we do so is through a ministry that is called "NEW WAVES" (poster on the left designed by me). New waves involves itself with the disciplining of the youths and their families in the communities that surrounds our campus. Many of these children come from broken homes where they are left to do whatever they want (Right: doing devotions). So being able to experience different art forms like dance, drama, visual arts and music is a true blessing to them.

Other than the arts, I am also babysitting a 23-month old boy named Joel (see picture). His parents are involved in leading the DTS and I help babysit him in the mornings.

And finally I also help out in the area of housekeeping. This involves the cleaning of all the public areas (bathrooms, offices and conference hall) on the campus, as well as getting rooms ready for teams that come to stay and cleaning up after they leave.

Innovations

As you can see I just added a new countdown clock to the start of the 2010 School Of Dance Studies.
This is part of the first innovations that this blog will undergo. So continue to expect big things. And don't forget to let me know what you think about it.

Blessings,
Sheedia
