Under construction

This blog is currently under construction. I am currently working at adding more information and making it more interactive for you to enjoy. If you have any comments feel free to leave them behind here or by sending an e-mail to sheedia@hotmail.com.

Introduction

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this blog, I would just like to share who I am and where I am right now. At the moment I am in Curacao, preparing to go on my next mission in Jamaica.

For those who do not know much about me, I am a missionary that works with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) which is a non denominational missionary organization with locations all over the world. With the main goal of: "To know God and to make Him known". YWAM's many ministries fit into three main categories: evangelism, training and mercy ministry. They are currently operating in more than 1000 locations in over 149 countries, with a staff of nearly 16,000. If you would like more explination about YWAM you can visit: http://ywam.org/contents/abo_wha_ywamexplained.htm

I started working with YWAM in 2007 when I did my Discipleship Training School in Trinidad. This is the entry level school of YWAM. During that school I learned a lot about having a relationship with the Lord, that He loves me and that He has the desire to have a personal relationship with all of us. This information totally changed my life to the point that I dedicated my life to completely serve the Lord wherever He leads me.
In this school we also went on outreach in Uganda which was a wonderful experience for me. I experienced God's heart for this nation and was able to see Uganda the way God sees it. A nation filled with riches but yet far away from the Lord and not able to enjoy their blessings (to the fullest).

After doing the Discipleship Training School I came home, enjoying the life here while seeking the Lord on what to do next. Sure enough He did show me that my next step is to do SOPA (School of Performing Arts) in Jamaica.
This school was completely different from my Discipleship Training School yet with one thing in common, I got to experience God and see Him working in my life. SOPA focusses on the arts which is my passion. But before I was able to completely walk out in this passion the Lord had some things to deal with me first. Particularly concerning my identity in Him. Understanding that He created me and formed me and that He loves me like a father should love his child. He's the perfect father. All this I was able to learn during this school.
After 3 months of lecture in Jamaica, we went on outreach in Belize. There I was able to walk out all that I was taught about my identity. We performed different dances, mime and self written songs on outreach. And was able to demonstrate God's love to the people of Belize.
