Arrived in Jamaica

Tomorrow will be exactly two weeks that I've landed in Jamaica. Yet it seems like I've been here for months just because of all of the things I've already done so far.

In the past two weeks we had our week of staff training here for YWAM Jamaica in general. That means that the two YWAM bases here - Montego Bay & Stone's Hope - got together to review the year that has passed and pray into the year that is coming. The theme for the conference was "Fast alone or far together". So we really emphasized how important it is to work as a team. Because this way more can be done, more people can get involved and the work has a future as the younger generation is being included.

Apart from the Staff training two of my friends got married on Aug 23rd and I was a part of the wedding. So there were a lot of preparations that needed to be done. Especially getting the whole campus cleaned out and decorated for the wedding. Nevertheless it was a beautiful wedding and I'm very happy for them.

This week I am working in various departments helping out. Including housekeeping, kitchen and arts.

But please keep me in your prayers as I am still adjusting to the life here and also for physical strength on all the things needing to be done.

Barbados - Increasing your capacity

Yesterday I reached back from the Eagle's Eye conference in Barbados, Which was entitled "Increasing your capacity". And the whole conference was truly based in increasing our capacity as a body of Christ in all areas.

For me it was a huge blessing being able to attend this conference in many ways. First of all I was blessed financially to go on this trip, because I did not have the finances to go at all.
Secondly I met people from all around the Caribbean that I was able to interact with. Not only did I get to hang out with them and learn a little bit more about the different cultures on the islands, but I was also able to discuss things about the bible and to broaden my understanding in certain areas.
And last but not least I learned to increase my capacity spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially.

One of the things taught in the conference that really caught my attention came from Jeremiah 29:5-7. Where the Lord gives the Isrealites a blueprint of how He wants them to live. He showed them that even though the place where they were was not prosperous, they still needed build houses, plant gardens, marry and increase in numbers. And the Lord's blessing upon them would give them the ability to do so.
The same way we can increase in various areas as well. Whether or not the country we're living in has a strong economy or not. This should not determine our prosperity. For though we are in this world we are not of this world.

I hope this will bless you as much as it blessed me and changed my ability to see things.
