Sheedia has moved

It is almost two years since the start of this blog. Back then I was embarking on a trip to Jamaica that was supposed to last till next year April, but things took a complete change. Instead I am now writing to you from my beloved Curacao without plans of going back into full time missions.

With that shift in lifestyle, also comes a shift in my blogging. There might be ocassions when I will still post on this one, but my main focus will be on my inspirational blog called InspirU CooCoo. It is a new adventure in my life, where I will be writing about different inspiring things. The main goal of the site is to inspire myself and those around me to incorporate art into our daily lives.

Take a look a the site. Would love to have you as a regular subscriber. Here's the link:

LIFE happens

Recently I have been keeping my eyes open and paying a lot of attention to all that happen around me. Taking the time to analyze, think through and ask the Lord what is really happening. Writing about it reminds me of King Solomon, the man that spend his time analyzing ants, locusses and lizards.

Lately there are many programs, books and teachings about going to the next level, getting your life in order or making your business succesful. I must say that I agree with a majority of them. Nonetheless a lot of people has forgotten the God-factor in things. We can sit and plan our whole life, work on it and lose it all in one day. Then again we can do it, and end up extremely succesful.

There are 2 verses in the Bible that really caught my attention concerning these things. Both of them written by King Solomon himself. He wrote: "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails" (Prov 19:21) and "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens" (Eccl 3:1). These are both universal principles. Whether you believe in Karma, higher powers or the Everlasting God.

All of this might sound depressing, but there is good news that comes with it. We always have the Lord on our side to guide us and protect us. Even when things go wrong and it is our fault, He is there to love on us. These are just some of the ways that the Lord shows His great love towards us. With that in mind, it is easy to come to the conclusion that no matter how you look at it, we are better off with the Lord on our side.

This is what I call a party

More than 2,000 people from Second Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, gathered at Discovery Green in the heart of Houston for a special celebration.

Head to the room in the back!

A headline yesterday read: "This Weekend’s Tornado Outbreak Was One of the Largest in History". 14 States has been hit  by 241 tornadoes in the US.

One of the stories that I heard was of this home improvement store in North Carolina where one of the workers directed everyone to a room in the back of the store. There they hid while a tornado passed over them. By doing so, 100 people's lives where saved. Here is a video of an interview with the survivors.

The verse that came to mind after watching this was:
Prov. 18:10 --> God's name is a place of protection - good people can run there and be safe.

Isn't it amazing that there is a someone willing to protect us just like that room in the back of the store? If you look at the video you can pretty much see that without that room, everyone of those 100 people would have been dead. So when life throws tornadoes at you, don't panic. Just head to the room in the back.
